To my sweet Ellie: I miss you dearly, but I know that you have been safely picked up by your new family!  You have survived against all odds and now you will finally get the chance at life that you deserve! I hope to visit you at your new home one day :) We also picked up little Sam today and she is playing with your old foster brother, but then snuggling up with me in the same place on the couch that you used to… she reminds me so much of you! Live happy sweet Ellie! Check out Sam’s new pics… littlsam.tumblr.com .

I just heard from your new family! They say you are absolutely perfect and a pleasure to have! They are thrilled that you have joined their pack and will send me pictures soon! I’m so glad your flight was uneventful and you are loving your new home!

Ellie asks that you please read this whole post and sends a slobbery kiss thank you to those that do :)

Thank you to everyone who has cared for and shown interest in Ellie <3 Ellie has found her furever home with a family in MA! She will be making her way to to begin a new and most awesome chapter in her life this week! She will be living with a family of 3 kids and a mom and a dad with an uncle and grandparents near by in a lovely house with a fenced in backyard and plenty of space to play and lounge in.  She will also have a chocolate lab sister, Cinderella, who will show her the ropes.  Across the street from her new house there is a high school with large fields and parks where she will go daily to play off leash! Ellie will snuggle up close to her new human sister in her bed and sleep as care free as a dog could ever be every night for the rest of her doggie life! She will also get daily walks by her new dad and her human brother promises to send along plenty of pictures! Ellie even met them through Skype last night and showed off her training and her precious lab eyes :)

She thanks each and every one of you who has proven that she is one of the most desirable dogs ever and clearly was mislabeled at Animal Control! Thank God we gave her the chance at life that she deserves!

Ellie does have a message for everyone, “Please check out my foster mommy’s 8-month-old black lab spunky sweetheart that she rescued when she rescued me! It was actually because of this little puppy that our foster mom even found me, so she deserves to go to an amazing home just like me. Please sniff out her page and bark at my foster mom about her. She is also spayed, housebroken, crate trained, up to date on vetting, gentle as can be, great with other animals and kids just like me! She was sadly abandoned in a parking lot by her owner and was almost hit by a car when some ladies found her and called Animal Control from where our foster mom rescued us from an awful situation. Sam’s page is littlsam.tumblr.com. Note that there is no “e” in “littl” in the link.”

New Best Friends series.  Ellie loves Mishka (our little 8-month-old aussie boy) even though he can be a handful!  She is the most mellow and patient doggie ever :)

The many faces of ELLIE :)

How many dogs can YOU get to stay still enough for this?

This was taken within less than 24 hours of having Ellie! She is definitely food driven and eager to please and so fast to learn! Palm face down means lay down and pointing down means sit. Not the classic commands, but that’s what my puppy knows so now we can use the same commands for both dogs to allow us to teach them these behaviors with each other as a distraction at the same time!

Ellis is also currently working on remaining in sit or down for more than 2 minutes straight…. a lofty task! But this will speak to her ability to control herself and calm down easily, so she’s made great progress :)

I have a long and rather sad story as I once used to have an owner and best friend who loved me lots, but somehow things went terribly wrong and I was abandoned and left to die at the shelter until my current foster mom tried her hardest and for 14 days straight to pull me from that horrible place… thank god she did it as I am now at home with her and learning many tricks and fast! I know sit, stay, down, paw, and am on my way to learning to weave and place! I live with a foster dad and brother that is an 8 month old Aussie and boy can he get annoying sometimes (but I just close my eyes and try to nap instead as I can’t really be bothered by anything). Nothing can phase me now as I’m so super happy to be in a home and I hope that you will consider adopting me and taking me home with you forever <3 I promise to be the best I can be as I am eager to please, fast to learn, and the most loving and cuddly a 3 year old black lab can be!

Please reach out to my foster mom at 347-528-2527 with any questions.  We live in Charlotte, NC but I have a sponsor who will fly me anywhere as long as a loving forever home is guaranteed!

Stay tuned for more updates on me.  I have a video of me doing my best with my training on only my second day with my foster mom.  She likes to teach me things so that when I go home with you I will be better than you could have ever imagined.

What you want to know:

I am a 3 year old black lab. Up to date on shots including rabies and even licensed now. Healthy as can be. Shiny and super silky and soft. Groomed within the last 4 days. Mellow and sweet. 44lbs but only 17 inches tall at my shoulders. Great on a leash. Love to be in my crate (and yes that means I am crate trained). Friendly and playful with dogs. Quiet (you wouldn’t even know you had a dog in the house if I didn’t come and lay by your side or at your feet). Ridiculously cute. Not in need of excessive exercise at all but I will play with you and other doggies outside if you let me. In shape and not an over-eater (I may eye your food though). Very easy to train especially for treats! Fully housebroken, even in my crate. Not one of those annoying dogs who constantly needs your attention and to be playing with you.  Mature, so I chill out and am really mellow inside.  Not food or bone aggressive - believe me, my foster mom puts her face in mine all the time when she takes my bones away, just for kisses, and then she usually gives them back! Easy to handle, you can touch me anywhere - I get my paws wiped every time I come inside from a walk. Snuggly and expressive with my perfect lab face and eyebrows.

And no, I don’t have baggage! I am happy and sweet as can be, just looking for the right best friend(s) to take me home forever this time <3
